Jr. Data Operations Engineer
At DataLink our Data Operations (DataOps) engineer is a member of a team that is responsible for running and monitoring data ingestion processes that contain mission-critical data. This position ensures the data is ingested correctly and in a timely manner. Additionally, if issues arise during the ingestion, the DataOps engineer will begin light troubleshooting to get to the root cause of the problem. For more complex issues, the DataOps engineer collaborates with DBAs and the scrum teams to resolve problems.
Responsible for running file ingestion packages.
Review job execution progress and results .
Review file intake BI report .
Monitor deployments .
Download flat source files and kick off manual ingestion.
Troubleshoot ingestion package issues.
Ability to open up packages to review errors (or willingness to learn).
Escalate larger problems to engineering teams and collaborate on solution.
At times, ability to work after hours, weekends and other on-call rotations when needed as part of a team.
Ability to learn how to act on basic SQL Server performance issues (long running queries for example) Other duties as assigned.
Junior level knowledge of SQL Server or other relational databases .
General knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments (Windows Scheduler, Windows services)
MS Office proficiency.
Basic experience with SSIS or other ETL tools.
SSRS or other reporting tool experience optional.
Experience using a source control tool such as GIT, TFS, or equivalent.
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or equivalent and/or equivalent experience.
Prior healthcare IT experience preferred.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Problem solving aptitude.
